P.A. of P.S. 175 Queens

With the fall semester already more than halfway in, we at Be Cool At After School have a lot to share with all of you! 

As you know, we offer promotional prices for after school for those who don’t regularly attend.  We’ve sent out single day flyers in the beginning of the year and now have 2-For-1 coupons that last until the end of the semester, until Jan. 29^th!  For $20 you can choose two days instead of one to send your child- just send in the coupon two days ahead of time.  This will be available on the P.A. website. 

Our first Wacky Fun Friday was held on October 30^th and what fun the kids had!  Wacky Fun Sue and her assistants joined us for the day to provide a fun autumn door hanger project and big pumpkin cookies to decorate, plus our regular after school teachers assisted as well as escorted students to play outside and in the gym. 

The last Friday in November was right around the corner so we took a break and are holding our next Wacky Fun Friday this month, on December 18^th.  With Friday being a full day of excellent classes we’ve decided to leave the wackiness up to you!  For $20 you can sign up your child that doesn’t regularly attend after school, and for those of you with a child enrolled, the cost will be just $5 for them to participate in the activity.  We’ll detail what we’ll be doing in our flyer so that you and your child can decide! 

A few of our performance classes will be entertaining us during the last week of the fall semester!  Classes and dates are:

Chorus: Thursdays, January 28^th, 4pm

Drama K-2^nd:  Friday, January 29^th, 4pm

Drama 3^rd-5^th:  Friday, January 29^th, 4:45pm

We hope you will be able to attend and support these amazing performers! 

We’ve been busy planning for the upcoming spring semester and it’s going to be even better than the first!  Most classes will be the same but we will be adding some new homework classes and more specific art classes, plus educational classes like Math, Spanish (K-2^nd) and Writing!  There will be something for everyone and the registration form along with descriptions of our classes will be available on the P.A. website.  Teachers will be handing out registration forms the day we return from Winter Recess, on January 4^th.  This will give you an entire month to sign up for classes but be aware that they fill up on a first-come-first-serve basis and some classes will have a maximum amount of students allowed in.  We want your children to be as happy as we are with what they will be attending so please speak to your child about what you choose for them.  We were flexible in the fall regarding changing classes but at this point they should be aware of what they like so there will be no switching after the first week in February.   

Last but not least, we would like to let you know that our security guard, Maria Schlosser, will be answering the after school phone regularly instead of the school phone during after school hours.  She cannot always be at her desk so this will be a more efficient way for you to get in touch with us.  If she does not answer don’t worry, we’ll be returning your phone calls as quickly as we do now.
