Recess

We need parent volunteers to watch the children in order for them to have recess.

Many parents wish their kids had recess at school. Running around and playing is important for children, but unfortunately P.S. 175Q currently lacks the resources to provide recess.

This is because the playground next to our school ("Annadale Playground") is not school property but a public NYC park. Since the playground has two exits to the street, the school cannot let the students out for recess unless there are enough adults to supervise the kids. There are two aides that are available, but that is not enough.

In the past, we had a Recess Committee comprised of parent volunteers that took turns to supervise. Two parents would stand at exits to the playground, allowing the kids to have recess every day. If you would like your child to have recess, we need to revive this setup.
